David is proud to a GP partner in Belfast which provides a grounded basis for supporting Quality Improvement. Following completion of the EQUIP programme in 2020 as part of GP training, David has supported dozens of trainees to complete Quality Improvement projects in primary care in his role as EQUIP mentor. This has developed his ability to identify areas for improvement, agree focused aims and apply practical principles to support completion of meaningful projects. He has also provided teaching and judging on the related EQUIP Day of celebration which recognises a number of outstanding Quality Improvement projects undertaken by GP trainees.

David has further developed his understanding of Quality Improvement methodology and Leadership skills when he completed the Scottish Improvement Leader level 3 programme in 2025.
